Bought an M235i that turned out to have a tuned ECU the seller conveniently forgot to mention


So I picked up this 2016 M235i about a month ago and the car felt properly quick during the test drive which I just chalked up to it being my first real performance car and me not knowing what stock power actually feels like, but then I took it to get inspected for registration renewal and the technician asked me who did the remap because the boost levels were way beyond factory. The previous owner is now conveniently not answering my calls and I'm stuck wondering what else he might have been less than honest about. The car runs fine honestly, no check engine lights or weird behaviour, but I'm a bit paranoid about long term reliability especially living in Abu Dhabi where the heat already puts everything under extra stress. I found www.bmw-garage.ae while trying to research whether I should flash it back to stock or just leave it alone if it's running well, and I think I need someone who can actually tell me what kind of tune is on there and whether it was done properly or just some cheap flash that'll grenade my turbo in six months. Has anyone else been through this whole surprise tune situation and did you end up keeping it or going back to original.
